Being an American, I’ve watched John Henry’s M.O. for decades. Build up a championship squad, refuse to invest long term. Absolute total reliance on youth systems to re-fresh depleted talent due to free agent loss.
The ‘win’ being that he DOES deliver titles; but it’s with a catch. Win today, you’ll lose tomorrow, as your fav players leave, and the teams erode. He did it in Miami (Marlins), then in Boston, Then Liverpool… and now they will be gearing up for their NHL team, Pittsburgh.
This does indeed get worse for us, if not sold soon. If no one believes me, check the Red Sox’ record over the last 5 years, and comapre with the depature of talent. Once you’re ‘hooked’ i.e. given a title? It’s all about paying Henry after. He’s gotta go!
I’m also not convinced they don’t ‘swap’ payrolls. Ever wonder why it seemed we never really spent that Suarez money? Ladies and Gents… meet Red Sox 125 mill bust, Fat Panda. Don’t feel too bad, though… the Sox lost a future HOF CF to the Dodgers, paving the way for Van Dijk and Alisson.

Kinda makes ya wonder which squads gonna be funding the Penguins, huh?

FSG, should be backing Klopp in the transfer market, and we will need at least 6 new capable players in the new season, especially in our spine.
