Shearer left absolutely furious by one refereeing decision during Newcastle’s defeat to Liverpool

Alan Shearer was left furious by one decision during Newcastle’s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at St. James’ Park earlier today.

Despite Jurgen Klopp’s side being a goal down and a man down when Darwin Nunez was introduced as a second half substitute, the Uruguayan struck twice late on to send the Anfield outfit back to Merseyside with all three points.

But it was a decision early on in the encounter when the score was still goalless which left ex-Newcastle striker and Premier League record goalscorer Shearer fuming.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was awarded a yellow card inside six minutes for throwing the ball away after appearing to be fouled by Anthony Gordon.

The Scouser then fouled the former Everton man just a few moments later with many inside the ground, especially the Newcastle coaching staff, expecting referee John Brooks to show our No. 66 a red card.

He instead decided to give Alexander-Arnold his final warning – much to the relief of the England international.

Shearer clearly felt the 24-year-old should’ve been dismissed!

  1. Fucken consistent arse hole Shearer, top quality gob shite, no mention of how Joelinton consistently fouls and gets no yellow card? How many men do you need sent off against you at home to win you crying cunts? Hahahahaha 2-1 dickheads

  2. That second card shearer was on about was a shoulder charge, no mention of the 5 fouls Joe Linton made without so much as a yellow. Hard to swallow being a goal up then beaten by 10 men.

  3. There wouldn’t have been a first yellow card for Alexander Arnold had the Referee given a Free Kick for the obvious push in the back by Anthony Gordon. it was only because he was so disgusted with that decision that TAA threw the ball away.Shearer should have been more concerned with the three Centre Backs and Pope continually passing the ball back and forth between them which inevitably allowed Liverpool to get bback into a position where the could defend. Howe used those same tactics when at Bouremouth so deserved all he got from the game that allegedly they were going to put an end to the statistics of Klopp always beating Howe and Liverpool’s run of wins over Newcastle.

  4. I didn’t expect this from Shearer, he sounded so unprofessional Maybe he said it out of frustration, so sorry about that

  5. Liverpool should harness the hatred and jealousy from others and focus like lasers on winning everything

  6. If Gorden shove on Trent wasn’t a foul then I don’t think Trent shove on Gorden should also be a foul, that’s the consistency we should be looking out for

  7. Sour grapes Mr shearer . Lots of decisions in that midfield that went unpunished including a blatent shoulder barge on Trent . No wonder the players are losing their shit no consistency 😁hey ho2-1😂😂
