According to the latest report from The Mirror, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is hoping the owners will resist their urge to sell Mo Salah when the Saudis make the staggering £200million offer for Mo Salah in the coming days.

Liverpool have already rejected a £150m bid from Al Ittihad but that has not deterred them with reports suggesting another improved offer of £200m is being prepared by the Saudi club.

And while so far the club has maintained the stance that the player is not for sale, an offer like that for the 31-year-old could start tilting heads in the Liverpool hierarchy.

And the report claims that Jurgen Klopp is also beginning to ‘accept’ that their best player could be sold before the Saudi transfer window shuts on Thursday. Klopp knows FSG believe that selling Salah will be the best decision financially.

The manager wants Salah to stay for one more season and make the inevitable move to Saudi Arabia next summer. But previous record shows that Klopp has been forced to bow to the owner’s financial decisions multiple times in the past and it would not come as a shock if the owners opt to go against Klopp’s wishes once more.

Salah himself is reportedly tempted by the offer made to him by Saudi and has informed those close to him about it. However, the player will not force a move out of respect for Liverpool.

Should Liverpool decide to sell Salah, it would undoubtedly represent a significant setback for Jurgen Klopp and the team. Losing their talismanic player without an immediate replacement would be a major challenge for the club.

The report paints a worrisome picture for Liverpool supporters, suggesting that Klopp may be bracing himself to losing his star player, which could potentially impact the team morale as well.

According to Daily Express, Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga was reportedly offered to Liverpool before his loan move to Luton Town.

The Belgian international, who has been compared to former Manchester City star Yaya Toure, joined Arsenal in 2021 from Anderlecht.

Lokonga initially impressed under then-manager Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht, which caught the eye of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

He made 24 appearances for Arsenal in his first season but eventually fell out of favor and was loaned to Crystal Palace in January next season.

The report claims that Jurgen Klopp showed interest in signing the 23-year-old but the deal did not materialise and he ended up joining newly promoted Luton Town on a loan deal.

While Liverpool didn’t secure Lokonga, they did strengthen their midfield by signing Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich in the final moments of the transfer window.

Although Gravenberch may not be a defensive midfielder, he is considered an excellent addition to Liverpool’s midfield, which already includes the likes of Mac Allister and Szoboszlai.

Moises Caicedo has experienced a challenging start to his Chelsea career.

Caicedo’s decision to reject Liverpool in favor of Chelsea in a mega £115 million deal, despite Liverpool having a fee agreed with Brighton, stirred controversy and left a bitter taste between the clubs and their supporters.

Which is why Liverpool supporters are loving his nightmare start to Chelsea. He gave away a clumsy penalty in his debut against West Ham which allowed Paqueta to seal a 3-1 win over them.

And earlier today against Nottingham Forest, he was responsible for Forest scoring the only goal of the game. A mix up between him and Conor Gallagher followed by a heavy touch resulted in him giving away the ball to the away side.

Taiyo Awoniyi picked up the ball and ran at Thiago Silva eluding a couple of challenge before sliding the ball through to Elanga who calmly slotted it away to win it for Forest.

Caicedo is undoubtedly a talented player who will likely find his footing in time but we will shamelessly celebrate every single mistake he makes till then.

Liverpool have already turned down a £150m bid from Saudi side Al Ittihad for Mohamed Salah, however speculation is rife that the Saudi Pro League outfit is not ready to give up the pursuit just yet.

Reports suggest that Al Ittihad are preparing to return with an improved offer, this time valuing Salah at a jaw-dropping £200 million.

The club has until September 7th, when the Saudi transfer window closes, to convince Liverpool to part ways with their prized asset.

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has weighed in on the matter, asserting that Liverpool should consider selling Salah for £200 million and then using the proceeds to secure the services of Bukayo Saka from Arsenal during the January transfer window.

Merson argues that at 31 years old, Salah could be replaced by the younger, highly-talented Saka, who is seen as one of the best right-wingers in the game.

He said:

“Do they sell him for £200m and then in January see if they can get Saka from Arsenal for £150m?”

“I’m thinking ‘right, one person’s 31, if I can get £200m, who’s the next one in line? Who’s the next one on the right-wing?’”

“The next in line is definitely Saka, he’s the best right winger about after Salah. If you were Liverpool, you’re trading in someone who’s a little bit older for someone who’s younger. They’d go rock the boat with Arsenal say ‘here’s 150 for someone.”

So far Liverpool have maintained the stance that the player is not for sale but you never know with our owners.

If they do end up selling him, it would be a huge set back for Jurgen Klopp as not only will he lose his best player but also lack any immediate replacement.

Also, it is hugely unlikely that Arsenal will sell their best player in January even if they are offered £150m (which we won’t).

For now, we pray Liverpool owners maintain sanity and do not sell him to Saudi.

According to former Liverpool captain Graeme Souness, it is only a matter of time before Liverpool give in to sell Mohamed Salah.

The Saudi Pro League transfer window does not close until September 7th which gives them another week to try and lure Liverpool into selling their most prized asset.

It was reported yesterday that Liverpool had rejected a whopping £150m bid from Saudi side Al Ittihad but the Saudi side have not ended their pursuit yet.

Despite Liverpool’s firm stance that Salah is not for sale, it appears that Saudi Arabia is willing to test the waters with another offer with a stunning £200m bid reportedly being prepared.

Souness believes Mo Salah will leave the club before the Saudi transfer window shuts and he cites various reasons why the transfer is bound to happen.

He told the Daily Mail (via Metro):

‘I have to say I fear Liverpool will lose Mo Salah to Saudi Arabia. I really think he’ll go for it in the six days between now and the Saudi transfer window closing.

‘He’s an Egyptian and a Muslim who would be going to the birthplace of Islam and to a country which has a maritime border with his own.

There’s the money, too, of course. This is not someone being offered 10 or 20 per cent more than his current vast salary. Salah can ask for whatever he wants and the Saudis would give it to him because he’s the one they will want more than any other player.

While Souness speaks solely from a Salah point of view, it is also worth noting that the crazy amount of money the Saudis are offering for the 31-year-old could very well tilt the owners’ heads.

Our owners have been known to prioritise financial gain, so if Saudi Arabia offers such a substantial sum for him, it could just be too tempting an offer for them.

While Salah has reportedly not pushed for a move out of respect for Liverpool, he may consider the transfer if the clubs can agree on a fee.

We are in for a nerve-racking next couple of days.
