The agent of one Liverpool player has said that numerous clubs ‘want’ to sign his client in 2024.

According to Przeglad Sportowy, Mateusz Musialowski’s representative Cezary Kucharski claimed that the 20-year-old is attracting plenty of interest from the continent, but he’s keen for the forward not to go back to his native Poland.

The agent said: “We signed a contract with the condition that I would not persuade him to return to Poland. I don’t want to persuade him to return to Poland, but he has the most offers from his homeland. Most clubs want him. I think he should go to the Netherlands, Belgium, or maybe Switzerland.”

Liverpool fans will be well aware of Musialowski from his exploits at underage level on Merseyside, catching the eye with mazy dribbling and sensational goals and being hailed as a ‘special‘ talent by some Reds supporters. He’s even earned the nickname ‘Polish Messi’, such is his raw talent (Liverpool Echo).

However, for all the promise the forward has shown, he’s yet to even be included in a senior matchday squad for the Reds (Transfermarkt), while younger prospects such as Ben Doak, Calum Scanlon, James McConnell and Kaide Gordon have already earned competitive first-team minutes under Jurgen Klopp.

He’d actually been on the brink of leaving Anfield at the end of the summer transfer window, only for a proposed move to Austrian outfit TSV Hartberg to fall through (Sport.pl).

If the rest of the season plays out with Musialowski no nearer a senior breakthrough, he could seriously consider moving on from Liverpool. Indeed, that decision might be taken for him, as his current contract expires next summer, and a renewal seeming unlikely if he fails to get a first-team debut by then.

The next six months could be pivotal in the 20-year-old’s career path, and he’ll be determined to finally make that significant leap from highly-touted future prospect to actual first-team squad member.

Liverpool’s under-21s fell to a 2-1 defeat away to Barrow in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday night, but it was a Reds player who had most people talking afterwards.

Barry Lewtas’ youngsters had actually struck first, and what a goal it was too from Mateusz Musialowski, who exchanged a deft one-two with Melkamu Frauendorf before lashing a shot into the top corner of the Bluebirds’ net (Sky Sports).

That was obviously the standout moment from the game, but it wasn’t as if the 20-year-old simply coasted through the rest of the match.

As per Sofascore, the Liverpool midfielder won a team-high six duels and made two tackles and one interception, along with landing three shots on target, recording two key passes and completing three dribbles and five long balls.

In his player ratings for the Liverpool Echo, Ian Doyle awarded Musialowski eight, hailing a ‘lively showing’ in which the Polish starlet ‘threatened with his runs from a deeper midfield position and curled in a sumptuous opener from range’.

Musialowski already has a glistening reputation in Liverpool circles, being hailed as ‘Little Messi‘ by compatriot Jerzy Dudek earlier this year, and performances such as the one against Barrow will serve only to enhance his good name on Merseyside.

Having turned 20 last month, he’s yet to be included in a senior matchday squad for the Reds (Transfermarkt), but you sense that his big moment mightn’t be too far away.

Should Jurgen Klopp’s side wrap up top spot in their Europa League group this week, a scenario which is quite possible, the final two matches against LASK and Union could be the perfect opportunity to blood the youngster into the first-team fold.

For now, all he can do is keep putting on the type of eye-catching performance to which he treated us last night. Do that, and his breakthrough will come sooner rather than later.

Liverpool U21s coach Barry Lewtas has applauded Mateusz Musialowski’s development this term.

The Englishman pointed to the 19-year-old’s improved consistency on the pitch and efforts made to contribute defensively to a greater effect.

“He’s been brilliant. This season, in terms of his level of consistency, without question it has risen,” the 42-year-old was quoted as saying in the aftermath of the 5-2 loss to Blackpool, as relayed by the Echo.

“He’s taking more responsibility for his all-round game and he commits to every phase of the game now.

“Defensively he’s strong and buying in. No-one can doubt his ability to dribble the ball, he can dribble past most, but he is finding a real consistency in his game.”

The Pole has been in terrific form as far as goal contributions are also concerned, amassing six goal contributions in seven games – with two of those coming against Blackpool.

There’s still time for Musialowski

Time may be running out on Musialowski’s contract (set to expire next summer), though his performances since the start of the season will surely inspire a rethink on his future from Anfield’s decision-makers.

At 19 years of age too, it’s not quite like we’re talking about a player in their 20s who really ought to have kicked on by this point if they’re to have had any hope of breaking into Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans.

Having been lauded as a promising talent for years, to such an extent that he was dubbed the ‘Polish Messi’, we’d love nothing more than to witness yet another exciting Academy prospect graduate.

We’ve all, as Liverpool fans, held high expectations for certain Academy talents only for said players to fall short of the mark despite impressing in pre-season or over a period of time.

Mateusz Musialowski, dubbed the ‘Polish Messi’, appeared to be the latest high-potential talent to have sadly fallen into that bracket… or so it seemed.

Perhaps inspired by the Reds’ evolution into Liverpool 2.0, the 19-year-old has enjoyed a reinvention of his own into a striker, and the numbers shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the Echo’s Theo Squires, certainly prove it.

With a contract set to expire the following summer, however, the window of opportunity left for Musialowski to stave off an exit from the club and catch the eye of Jurgen Klopp once more is a narrow one.

That’s without considering the fact that we’re also particularly well-stocked in the striking department with the likes of Darwin Nunez (24), Cody Gakpo (24) and Diogo Jota (26) present.

Able to play across the front three spots, of course, the Pole should be considered anything but positionally un-versatile.

With the international break having caught up with fans once more, it will be a while before we can potentially witness the return of the youngster to the senior squad.

Those twiddling their thumbs, however, need not with https://india-1xbet.com/fishinghunting that gives supporters the opportunity to engage in experiences that recreate the vibe of an actual sports event – just virtually!

You’d be surprised by the level of detail that can be reproduced with all the latest graphics to draw in players; it’s the ideal distraction when club football makes way for international fixtures.

One to keep an eye on?

Six goal contributions in seven games, even coming in the Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy, shouldn’t be sniffed at.

Still, there’s serious competition Musialowski will still have to shine just as bright as if he’s to earn another call-up to the senior squad between now and the rest of the season – or at least buy himself time with a contract extension.

Can we say we’re currently as excited about the teenager as young Scot Ben Doak who’s two years his junior? Sadly not.

You can imagine Liverpool being prepared to extend his stay on Merseyside, of course, should he continue his positive spell of form, just to protect his value if nothing else.

We’ll be very curious to see how the club approaches this particular conundrum, and hopefully Musialowski can prove his detractors wrong!

Liverpool could be ready to cash in on an academy prospect who’s earned comparisons to a World Cup-winning legend, according to reports.

Football Insider claimed that the Reds are willing to entertain bids for Mateusz Musialowski this summer and won’t stand in his way if he wishes to depart and a satisfactory offer is presented to the club.

The 19-year-old changed his agents recently in preparation for a potential exit from Anfield, with his off-field affairs now being handled by his parents.

Polish outlet Sportowe Fakty had reported on Monday that two clubs from his homeland had shown an interest in signing him, either on loan or permanently, with talks believed to have been held with those prospective suitors.

Musialowski’s raw talent saw him dubbed ‘Little Messi’ by compatriot and former Reds goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek in an interview with the Liverpool Echo last month, although the winger endured a frustrating campaign during 2022/23.

He only scored twice in 18 appearances for Liverpool’s under-21 side and was restricted to eight starts in Premier League 2 (Transfermarkt), seeing younger academy prospects in Stefan Bajcetic and Ben Doak making the first-team breakthrough which continues to elude him.

As noted by Football Insider, the latter is now deemed likelier than the Polish youngster to fully make the leap from underage hopeful to senior stalwart, with the last 12 months seeing Musialowski’s development ‘stall’ somewhat.

He’s also entering the final year of his contract at Anfield (Transfermarkt), which could possibly sway the Reds towards cashing in on the 19-year-old while they still have the opportunity to do so.

There is the possibility of the club agreeing fresh terms with him in order to facilitate a loan move rather than a permanent exit, but following this report of a readiness to accept offers for the winger, it seems they could instead agree to a full sale for the right price.

If that does happen, it’d be a pity that Musialowski couldn’t quite make that transition from the academy to the first team, although his lofty comparisons to the Argentina legend suggest that he might well go on to enjoy a productive career away from Liverpool.

One gifted Liverpool youngster could find himself at the centre of a tug-of-war between two clubs from his homeland who hope to secure him for the 2023/24 season at least.

Polish outlet Sportowe Fakty reported that Gornik Zabrze, along with one of Widzew Lodz or LKS Lodz, are interested in securing a move for Mateusz Musialowski, with talks apparently held with the two teams vying to sign him.

The report mentions the possibility of a loan, but with the 19-year-old’s contract at Anfield expiring next June (Transfermarkt), the Reds may need to agree fresh terms with the winger before sanctioning a temporary departure.

Musialowski has yet to feature for Liverpool’s first team or even make a senior matchday squad in a competitive fixture (Transfermarkt), although he boasts a huge compliment from one of his compatriots who used to grace the shirt.

In an interview with the Liverpool Echo in May, Jerzy Dudek dubbed the teenager ‘Little Messi’, adding that he’s a ‘very talented’ and ‘skilful’ prospect.

The comparison with the Argentina legend can seem an inadvisable burden to place on the Polish youngster, but another way of looking at it is that it highlights just how much raw talent the Reds prodigy could unleash in the future.

Musialowski shot to fame in 2021 when he scored a sensational solo goal for Liverpool’s under-18s in a match against Newcastle, one which had echoes of an equally breathtaking strike from Messi at a similar age for Barcelona against Getafe 14 years previously.

He seems too good a talent to lose for free, so hopefully the Merseyside club can agree a contract extension if they decide to loan him to a club in his homeland to gain some valuable first-team exposure.

Jerzy Dudek has heaped praise on one young Liverpool prodigy whose nickname ‘tells you everything about his talent’.

The goalkeeping hero of the 2005 Champions League final gave an interview to the Liverpool Echo in which he singled out compatriot Mateusz Musialowski, who’s been dubbed the ‘Polish Messi’ in some quarters.

The former Reds goalkeeper said of the 19-year-old striker: “I have seen a few bits of him on YouTube and he is a very talented player, very skilful. Little Messi. Let’s hope he’s going to make it.

“He has got great potential, but he needs to stay focused and out of the media. This can always be distracting, but he has smart people around him and the club can help him too.”

Regarding how Musialowski would handle the ‘Polish Messi’ billing, Dudek stated: “It depends on the character of the person. Some players take this as an opportunity to be bigger and they feel better with this nickname.

“I don’t think they are going to take it seriously, they are going to work for their own name in the future. It is always nice if someone can say you are more or like a young Messi, this is a big compliment. It tells you everything about his talent.”

It’s understandable why Dudek is excited about Musialowski’s potential but sounding a word of caution about him not being burdened by the grandiose nickname bestowed upon him.

Whereas other teenagers at Liverpool such as Harvey Elliott and Stefan Bajcetic have broken into the first team, just as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones did before their respective 20th birthdays, the Polish striker has yet to make a competitive senior debut for the Reds (Transfermarkt).

He had an impressive scoring record for the club at under-18 level, netting 18 times in 31 appearances, but he’s only struck four goals in 32 games for the under-21s (Transfermarkt), finding the elder age grade altogether more challenging.

However, Musialowski has shown flickering signs of having something to offer to the first team, having been given a chance by Jurgen Klopp in pre-season last July and also scored a sensational solo goal in an under-18s game against Newcastle two years ago (Liverpool Echo).

Given the abundance of riches in the Reds’ forward line, the teenager will almost certainly need to go out on loan if he’s to have exposure to competitive senior football in the next year or two.

That ought to tell us a lot more about whether the ‘Polish Messi’ could light up Anfield over the coming decade, just as the Argentina legend has done at Barcelona and PSG for a number of years.

The No.92, dubbed the Reds’ ‘Polish Messi’, hasn’t had many an opportunity to shine ahead of the start of the campaign proper, which may suggest a loan spell is ideal for his development, should further outings with the senior squad be limited.

Mateusz Musialowski scored a superb volley against AC Milan Under 19s in the UEFA Youth League to ensure Liverpool avoided the play-offs in the competition.

The Polish attacker finished off a good move that was started on the left by Kaide Gordon and the 17-year-old played a well weighted pass down the line to Luke Chambers.

The Preston-born left-back delivered a well-weighted cross that found the goal scorer at the back post.

Taking it on the full volley, the 18-year-old emphatically put the ball in the back of the net with his right foot to put the Reds one-nil up before the fifth minute of the game.

It wasn’t enough to win the match though as Victor Eletu equalised with 12 minutes remaining but the point was still enough to see the youngsters through to the knockout round of the competition.

Here’s hoping they have a solid run in the next stage of the competition.

Following Pep Lijnders’ pre-match press conference ahead of Liverpool’s upcoming visit to the Deepdale Stadium, a few potential selection calls seem reasonably guessable.

Starting in an unorthodox fashion, Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino appear bolt-on favourites to take starting spots in the first-XI.

Given the absences of James Balagizi and Mateusz Musialowski from the U23s stalemate with their Blackburn Rovers counterparts at the start of the week, we’d expect the pair to start in midfield and the forward line respectively.

In light of our ongoing injury struggles in the middle of the park, the EFL Cup represents a good opportunity to rest our few remaining first-team starters and hand minutes to the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

In the backline, Joe Gomez is in need of some minutes having been overlooked at the weekend in favour of summer signing Ibrahima Konate and we can see the 24-year-old being joined by underused centre-half, Nat Phillips.

With Caoimhin Kelleher ruled out from the bench for our Old Trafford visit through illness, we’re going to keep our fingers crossed for the Irishman’s swift recovery but expect third-choice shotstopper Adrian to take his place.

Musialowski first goal was a well-worked counter-attack, typical of Liverpool, which was finished off from range.

His second wasn’t quite as impressive, but it shows the youngster knows how to be in the right place at the right time.

With some eye-catching performances for Liverpool U18s, Musialowski has drawn comparisons to a certain Argentine superstar called Lionel, earning himself the ‘Polish Messi‘ nickname – as per The Athletic, with Jurgen Klopp said to be ‘wowed’ by the youngster.

With 12 goals and three assists under his belt for the Reds’ youth side in just 25 appearances, there is a belief inside Kirkby that Mateusz is on course to be a future star.

Coaches at Liverpool believe Mateusz Musialowski has the potential to be special

The teenager is currently away with the senior squad, posted up at Liverpool’s pre-season training camp in Austria.

With a few friendlies lined up over the next couple of weeks, including two mini-games, we could see Musialowski in action this summer.
