It’s October, but the transfer rumour mill is still churning…
Spanish outlet Don Balon have claimed today that Jurgen Klopp and Ronald Koeman are both interested in Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams – who has a €50m release clause.
Their report says that both Merseyside clubs are eyeing up the Spanish forward who’s just 22 and scored 13 goals in all competitions last term. This season though he’s yet to find the back of the net and is not an automatic starter, either.

Coutinho’s wonderful quotes suggest he wants to stay at Liverpool for a long time
Our problem with the story is that if the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi can’t get in Liverpool’s team right now, there’s no real room for Williams in the squad. Danny Ings can’t even make the bench, and the kind of money it would require to tempt the forward is extortionate.
We’d be surprised if Klopp made any major additions in January. Perhaps we’ll tempt a few youngsters, but barring an injury crisis – the German is happy with his current options.
This is just the way we like it.
